Lamborghini LM002

Lamborghini LM002

Certainly the most outlandish vehicle ever created by Ferruccio Lamborghini, the LM002 is a pure beast of an off-roader. With exotic Countach inspired supercar styling but with go anywhere, brute force 4×4 capabilities it’s one hell of a machine. You’ve probably never seen one, let alone had the chance to drive an LM002, and that’s because only 301 ever saw the light of day. Each of the production vehicles were powered by the 5,167 cc four-valve DOHC V12 you would have found in the 5000 QV Countach, and with 444 bhp underneath your right foot, the LM002 was certainly no slouch hitting 62mph in just 7.7 seconds, an incredible feat considering a curb weight of 5,720 pounds. The power drove through a five-speed manual gearbox, whilst the ride was smoothed out from the independent front and rear suspension. The interior is classic Lamorghini Italian, it’s wood and leather everywhere – imagine Hugh Hefner’s study. The LM002 comes from a time when we didn’t think twice about fuel consumption, and at 8 mpg you probably won’t want to think about it either. Mpg is one way to measure the consumption, although PBPH (Polar Bears per Hour) is a suitable alternate measurement. It’s the Lamborghini for the man who has everything, except maybe if he already owns one of the other 300 LM002’s… but we doubt that.
