McLaren 650S Le Mans

McLaren 650S Le Mans

How else could McLaren celebrate the 20th anniversary of their winning the 1995 Le Mans 24hr race? Well start with a standard 650S and hand it over to Peter Stevens (the genius who styled the McLaren F1) and allow him to work his magic. The styling of the 650S Le Mans echoes that of the homologation editions which took part in that special 1995 Le Mans race with the addition of the awesome looking roof snorkel which feeds the hungry 3.8L Twin Turbo’d V8 with the air it needs to develop 641bhp. This sees a top speed of 207mph and a 0-100mph time of 5.7seconds. New front wings increase downforce, and the addition of race inspired lightweight wheels 19 inch at the front and 20 inch at the rear wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres keep this 650S glued to the road, whilst expect organ detaching braking from the as-standard carbon ceramic brakes. Every 650S Le Mans will be finished in McLaren’s fighter-jet-esque grey metallic paint, whilst swathes of alcantara throughout the cockpit remind you this supercar is an all out racer. Scheduled for Summer 2015 deliveries, getting your hands on a 650S Le Mans will be quite the accomplishment, only 50 of them will ever see the light of day all priced at £244,500, a cool £50K more expensive than the standard 650S.
