Pininfarina Sergio

Pininfarina Sergio

Italian design specialists Pininfarina have announced they’ll be putting their gorgeous Sergio model into limited production to the applause of many fans. Undoubtedly the masters of style, Pininfarina can claim stake to some of the most beautiful automotive creations over the last 60 years. Based on the Ferrari 458, the Sergio features a complete cosmetic restyling. Utilising the carbon fibre body there’s a significant 150kg weight loss over the standard 458 spider improving the already blistering performance. We’ve heard rumours a top speed of 199mph with a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds driven by the 570bhp V8.  The rather unconventional windscreen-less design may leave you wondering how much wind’s going to be hitting you in the face, but we’re assured the clever aerodynamics channel airflow over the driver creating an invisible screen. Unfortunately if you’re hoping to add the Sergio to your collection, you’re going to be out of luck. The six production models have already been snapped up by Ferrari collectors – let’s hope they actually see time on the road, rather than tucked away under covers.
